Milltown’s Island Park Ballroom To Be Inducted Into S.D. Rock Hall

I went to many shows there, starting very young, and heard Rock and Roll live for the first time there.  I roller skated for the first time there too... but the music, wow what memories...

I've come here to chew bubblegum and kick ass... and I'm all out of bubblegum.

That is very true but has anyone been to a street dance or rock band appearance lately? No one dances. They sit and get F***ed up and then stand in front of the stage and drunkenly wave their beer bottles. The old bands played good music. The so called bands now turn the amps up to destruct and wang away. No one can here their mistakes that way.

Thanking Obama for getting Bin Ladin is like going to McDonalds and thanking Ronald McDonald for your hamburger.  Its the guy cooking the burger that should get the credit, not the clown.

I've been playing live music most of my adult life.   There are some really good and really bad bands around that will never change.  Heard a bad one last night and they have a pretty good following. Makes me wonder what people are really hearing.

This reminded me of the Peony Park ballroom when I was growing up.  It was in Omaha, as part of Peony Park.

Remember, I could be wrong.

Benn in the crowd and/or gigging at almost all those mentioned- + the Dells ballroom, Hudson Community Hall, The Casino Ballroom at Lake Kampeska, Lake Madison Ballroom, lots and lots more - all over the upper midwest (MN, SD, IA, MO, NE, KS) both dancing and performing.

Island Park was a great one.
