California Prop 32 will be one to watch...
« on: September 19, 2012, 02:05:20 AM »
Amazingly strong wording in this LATimes (WAY liberal) opinion piece...

http://www.latimes.com/news/opinion/opinion-la/la-ol-sand-prop32-blowback-20120824,0,2890404.story

Quote
...As a former teacher, she endorsed Proposition 32 because it's California's best hope for the implementation of urgently needed reform that would rescue the next generation of its children from bad schools that will cheat them of attaining their full potential.

What else can you call it but corruption when big government unions demand that the public officials they have put in office vote to spend money -- money that isn't there -- on generous pensions and other unsustainable benefits?

My Union is going bonkers this year--- and I think they are afraid.  Of course, none of them want to admit they are killing their own golden goose here.

So..... you'll  be voting to beso your own pension adios - eh?
Gonna therefore opt to become 100% reliant on "the taxpayers" in your old age?

heh...  Like I said before-- I hope to MOVE out of here by next summer.  As for my Teacher Retirement... I just might cash it out into a 401K, because I don't trust the solvency of that system.  If this is a ponzi scheme, I will have my money out before the crap hits the fan.  8)

Well the thugs are in charge in Chicago. New contract but  how the hell do you pay for $300M+ in pay raises in a district that is $600M in the hole?

I don't think pensions just go poof...I think most of the time they turn into 401Ks. I think that happened in Wisconsin.

And then everytime kitten harming comes up in a forum, I attack the people that are kitten lovers, and rant against kitten loving websites. Am I actually a kitten lover? I don't think so.

You go to the state, and then the federal government, I guess.

Illinois is in deeper sheet then Chicago is, which is pretty deep. Think California.

Well, you just raise taxes on the rich people to make up the difference.  The only problem is, the rich ones are the ones in charge, and they don't want to pay more.  Oh, but Chicago has democratic leadership, they should have no problem paying more to support the children.  I'm sure they will figure out someway to raise taxes on themselves, with a few loopholes, that places the burden on regular working people and never pay a penny more themselves.  They might even end up paying less if they word the tax increase correctly.

What the Hell are you talking about Bob----  Clearly only REPUBLICANS do that kind of thing!  Democrats are all about fighting for the little guy-- remember?  Dems are Robin Hood, and the Repubs are the fat-ass rich guys that Robin Hood steals from.
emphasis on the word steals.
